Octavio entered the U.S. Marine Corps. in 1998 and was medically retired in 2007. He served with the 2nd Battalion 5th Marines Fox Company as a machine gunner; Weapons Field Training Battalion as a Primary Marksmanship Instructor; and deployed to Ramadi, Iraq with 1st Battalion 5th Marines Charlie Company as a Squad Leader. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds caused by an improvised explosive device while operating in a combat zone. Before coming to Frontsight, Octavio taught Cowboy Church Sunday mornings in Chino, CA. He attended Calvary Chapel Bible College and the University of Phoenix. He currently resides in the City of Fontana with his wife Vanette and his five children Jacob, Octavio, Jaslyn, Ryan, and Avery.
